Man U regret signing Sanchez UROWAYINO WARAMI 28 FEB 2018 Members of Manchester United’s board reportedly regret signing Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in January. The North-West outfit caused a shock in the winter window when they swept under Manchester City’s nose to steal the Chile international. Alexis Sanchez Sanchez was widely expected to join Pep Guardiola’s side, but in the end he moved to Old Trafford in a swap deal involving Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Since moving to United, the 29-year-old has not yet made a huge impression on the team having scored just once in seven appearances in all competitions. According to El Pais, some members of United’s board have told Premier League executives that they regret signing Sanchez for three reasons. The hierarchy reportedly feel that the player would have been much cheaper had they secured his signature in the summer when his contract at Arsenal expired.

Omokri wondered why housemates caught having sex in the toilet are been referred to as stars. In a tweet, the former presidential aide cautioned Nigerians against replicating everything from the Western world. He wrote, “When I was a child, only animals had intercourse in the open for all to see. Now I am an adult, Nigerians call people who publicly have intercourse in a toilet, stars! If they are stars, it must be very dark over Nigeria! We have a culture. Not everything from the West is good!”

MASSOB in a statement by its National Director of Information, Comrade Edeson Samuel, said its leader Comrade Uchenna Madu, is shocked over the irreparable loss to death of Col Joe Achuzia, the fearless general who never gave up until the war was over.

FG unveils $10bn private sector investment initiative for N-Delta ON FEBRUARY 28

,  ABUJA—The Federal Government yesterday, received a $10 billion private sector investment proposal aimed at fast-tracking the development of infrastructure and social wellbeing of the people of the Niger Delta region. The proposal, which was presented to stakeholders during the meeting of ministers, governors of Niger Delta region and Chief Executives of International Oil and Gas Companies, IOCs, in Abuja, is targeted at a paradigm shift from public sector funding  mechanism to private sector funding mechanism. According to it, the funds which will be sourced in partnership with the Federal Government from the development partners,  IOCs, Sovereign Wealth Fund, both national and international, commercial banks, cooperative banks and insurance companies, will be pooled under Niger Delta Investment Fund, NDIF, for investors to access and execute meaningful development projects in the region. President Muhammadu Buhari’s only son, Yusuf, returned to the country on Monday after undergoing further treatment overseas. This Day reports that Yusuf is in a better shape now and is expected to resume his normal life. When contacted about the president’s son’s return, Buhari’s Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, declined to comment on the issue. “The boy has a right to his private life. Col. Joseph Achuzie, ex-Briafan Army commander and a Nigerian civil war veteran is dead. Mr Onyeka Achuzie, told journalists at the deceased’s residence, No. 2 Idumojei Quarters, Asaba, that his father died at about 8 a.m on Monday. ”My father died around 8 a.m this morning at age 90 in the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba. “He was a traditional Chief of Asaba,” the Ikemba of Asaba”, so we have announced it to the Asagba in Council; it is a sad news to us. “I could not believe that he is dead, even when he was entering the FMC where he died, he was smiling, we never knew he was going to die because he was still strong in spite of his age. “He had a little bit of illness, coupled with his age, we really missed him for he was such a good father,” Onyeka said.
