Peter of Psquare, P Diddy link up ahead of Concerts in Abu Dhabi

Peter Okoye, former member of defunct Psquare, has linked up with American music mogul, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, ahead of their individual concert in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates . Facebook deletes Russian media accounts, Kremlin calls it censorship

AGENCY REPORT 5 APR 2018 The Kremlin on Thursday said Facebook’s removal of accounts controlled by various Russian media was a hostile move that smacked of censorship. Facebook said on Tuesday it had deleted hundreds of Russian accounts and pages associated with a “troll factory” indicted by U.S. prosecutors for fake activist and political posts in the 2016 U.S. election campaign. When asked about Facebook’s move, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov agreed with a questioner from one of the affected media outlets that it was a hostile step which smacked of censorship. “Yes it is, we are of course following this and we regret it,” Peskov told a conference call with newsmen. Female lawmaker urges men to marry more wives to boost population

AGENCY REPORT 5 APR 2018 A female Kenyan lawmaker, Gathoni Wa Muchomba, has encouraged rich men to marry more than one wife in order to help boost the country’s population. The lawmaker, a former journalist, said this while addressing the issue of fatherless children in the society during the opening of a rehabilitation centre. Wa Muchomba said some of the societal problems, including alcoholism among young people, could largely be blamed on raising children in the absence of substantive fathers. “We need to be honest; these children who are raised by single mothers, where are their fathers? “And why do we want to pretend that this is not a problem? Buhari Approves $1bn For Purchase Of Military Equipment

Channels Television     File photo President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the purchase of military hardware worth $1billion for the use of the Nigerian Armed Forces. The President gave the approval during a meeting with the Minister of Defence, Brigadier General Mansur Dan-Ali (rtd), and the service chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Mr Dan-Ali disclosed this to State House correspondents shortly after the meeting which also discussed the safe release of Leah Sharibu, the last of the Dapchi schoolgirls still in Boko Haram captivity. According to him, the meeting also discussed security situations across the country and the steps being taken to mitigate them. The minister further gave more updates on the fund approved by President Buhari. Another Nigerian Senator, Bukar Mustapha, is dead

Bukar Mustapha, the senator representing Katsina North, is dead. Mr. Mustapha was President Muhammadu Buhari’s senator as he represented the president’s senatorial district. He died after a brief illness on Wednesday, PREMIUM TIMES learnt. The News Agency of Nigeria quotes Mr. Bukar’s elder brother, Umar Bukar, as confirming the news. Mr. Bukar’s death is coming less than a week after the deputy majority leader of the House of Representatives, Umar Jibril, died after a protracted illness. It also came about two weeks after another senator, Ali Wakili, passed away.

Biafra: Produce Nnamdi Kanu or go to prison – Court warns Senator Abaribe, two others

The Federal High Court in Abuja has asked the three sureties in the trial of leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, to produce the defendant or risk going to prison. Kanu, who is currently facing trial for alleged treason, was required to be produced in court by his sureties. Kanu’s sureties were Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe, a Jewish priest, Immanuu-El Shalom, and an accountant resident in Abuja, Tochukwu Uchendu. However, the IPOB leader has not been seen after since September 2017. Justice Binta Nyako had asked the sureties to produce the defendant. At the resumption of the matter, however, a counsel for the sureties, Chukwuma Machukwu Umeh, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, said his client had not been served with court papers relating to the order made by the judge. Nigeria: UN condemns continuous attack on civilians in Northeast

Mr Yassine Gaba, the UN Deputy Humanitarian  Coordinator in Nigeria, on Monday, strongly condemned Sunday’s deadly attack near Belle Village in Maiduguri, Borno. This is contained in a statement by Mr Abiodun Banire, the National Public Information Officer, UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Abuja. At least 34 civilians lost their lives in the attack which left 90 others injured. Banire said that recent weeks had seen a steady continuation of attacks on civilians in the three most conflict-affected states of Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe in the Northeast Zone of the country. Banire quoted Gaba as saying that since the beginning of the year, no fewer than 120 civilian were reportedly killed while more than 210 sustained serious injuries in more than 22 attacks allegedly carried out by non-state armed groups. Fast-rising Nollywood actress, Jemima Osunde, has declared that good sex is better than money. In an interview with Broadway TV, the actress was asked to choose between a rich man that is not good in bed and a poor man good in bed. She responded: “I don’t plan to be broke myself. So, a man good in bed is good for me not his money. Let him give me what I can’t give myself”. Jemima also reacted to comparisons with Adesua Etomi Wellington. “I don’t see that as a bad thing. First of all, she is my mama, every child wants to be like their mama I guess. “And if for anything, she is doing amazingly well, career-wise and in personal life. “I think God has been great to Adesua.
